Description: Some of the most spectacular river pools in France are in the mountains behind Nice. My favourite is the Estéron, which has sliced a white slot canyon with great marble pools through the centre of the mountains. There is a dramatic bridge, deep clear pools and many opportunities for swimming, including the deep mountain chasm itself. Aiglun is four miles west from the fortified village of Sigale.
